The first big project

The first big project we decided to tackle was to take out the wall in the living room that divided the living room and a bedroom. A large, open living area was much more desirable to us than an extra small bedroom. What a piece of construction mastery! The interior walls (forming the bedroom) had been insulated and were very creatively constructed, which made for great fun in the deconstruction. Better yet, the furnace thermostat had been wired directly onto the drywall! Just a few of the many surprises that lay ahead...

Welcome to the show

After months of waiting and battleing idiots we closed on our new 99 year-old house on April 20, 2006! Hooray!

Follow along as we turn a dump into a disaster. We'll share resources, progress and opinions.

To begin with, if you're looking for a Buyer's Agent, we highly recommend Russ Murray. Russ was excellent and an invaluable resource for an otherwise very frustrating transaction. He was incredibly knowledgable and pleasant to work with.

If you're looking for a lot of needless frustration and endless Delays, try Remax, or getting your finances tied up with Option One Mortgage.
